Dry ice (frozen carbon dioxide) and gel packs are the most common coolants/refrigerants used for transport.

Recovery Solutions for your Temperature-Sensitive Shipments

For your shipments packed in dry ice, UPS provides — as part of the UPS Proactive ResponseSM service — dry ice replenishment for shipments at risk of not being delivered on time.
